LMC Members

Julie qualified as a Doctor at Sheffield medical school in 1995 and has been a GP in Dinnington since 2000 and is a GP Trainer. Living and working in the practice area can sometimes lead to interesting conversations at the school gates, but also means she is passionate about improving local services and health provision for her friends and family as well as patients. Medical interests include cancer and dementia and women's health. She joined the LMC in April 2016. Julie is married to a teacher, has 3 sons and a labrador and enjoys singing in a local ladies' choir, playing the piano and caravan holidays. 

 

Richard qualified from Sheffield Medical School in 1987 and after successfully completing MRCGP and Bassetlaw VTS in 1992 went on to work as a Partner at Morthen Road Group Practice in the same year. He has an interest in other leadership roles outside of the Practice, taking over as Clinical Director for Maltby/Wickersley PCN, and sitting on the Clinical Referrals Management Committee with secondary care colleagues. Medical interests include dementia, palliative care, and mental health particularly around substance misuse, providing the Shared Care LES for many years, as well as being the practice lead for Case Management/LTC.  Having just reached the age of 60, he recently took early "retirement", returning to work for his Practice on a reduced session basis and taking on an Officer role within the LMC.

His spare time is spent juggling various domestic requirements with managing a wildflower meadow and adjacent woodland close to his home in Firbeck and adopting various waifs and strays, currently though down to just 3 dogs. He still meets up weekly with old friends to play table-top role playing games of various types, a hobby he has indulged in since a teenager.
